Governance Goal

Governance exists to protect:

• meaning,
• consistency,
• and the ability to teach and transfer knowledge.

The Canon Rule

If there is a conflict between:

• an unofficial description,
• a third-party implementation,
• or a derivative guide,

the canon published on UBKDS.org controls.

Versioning Rules

• Major versions (v1.0, v2.0) reflect structural or meaning-level change.
• Amendments and clarifications may be published within a major version.
• Only versions in the Canonical Registry are recognized.

Change Review Posture

The Stewardship Body evaluates changes based on:

• stability impact,
• teachability,
• compatibility,
• and clarity.

Compatibility Claims

Organizations and vendors may claim compatibility only if:

• their implementation respects canonical definitions,
• and they do not redefine UBKDS terms.

Recommended language:

"Compatible with UBKDS v1.0 (UBKDS.org)"
